Dr. John Elstrott serves as Executive Director of EMH Strategy and represents the firm as the founding Investment Committee Chair of the New Orleans Startup Fund. As an accomplished entrepreneur and educator, John is a Professor of Practice in Entrepreneurship and the founding director of the Tulane Family Business Center and the Levy-Rosenblum Institute for Entrepreneurship at Tulane University’s Freeman School of Business, and also serves as Chairman of the Board of Whole Foods Market. Additionally, he has entrepreneurial experience in the natural foods, venture capital, financial service, oil field service, hazardous waste cleanup, telecommunications, music, and pharmaceutical industries. He serves as director on many public, private and non-profit boards, including, but not limited to, Stewart Enterprises (lead director), GuideStar, Resource Environmental Solutions (chairman), Get Healthy (chairman), NuMe (chairman), Barriere Construction, Neill Corp, Fraenkel, Laitram, Danos, Sambazon, Zehnder Communications, Traditional Medicinals, and PreSonus. Dr. Elstrott holds a Doctorate in Economics from the University of Colorado and Master’s and Bachelors degrees in Economics from Louisiana State University.
