Focusing on existing capabilities and the NOCCA brand, EMH prepared a strategic growth plan to guide the school through a period of physical and programmatic expansion.
The New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) is Louisiana’s art conservatory for high school students. An Agency of the state of Louisiana, NOCCA provides professional-level arts training in a variety of disciplines, such as Creative Writing, Dance and Musical Theatre, to students from public, private and parochial schools across Louisiana through school day, after-school, weekend, and summer sessions.
The NOCCA Institute is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that provides support and advocacy for NOCCA’s world-class programs. With the support of corporations, foundations, and individuals across Louisiana and the globe, the Institute has formed a special relationship with NOCCA that has created one of the nation’s leading arts education institutions.
NOCCA and the NOCCA Institute are located on the boundary of two historic New Orleans neighborhoods, Marigny and Bywater. In order to successfully launch two programs, a full-day academic program and a culinary arts program, NOCCA required an expansion plan for its campus.
EMH’s task was to create a plan for phase one of NOCCA’s real estate expansion to accommodate the growing programming needs, as well as a sustainable financial strategy, outlining revenue-generating activities for the NOCCA Institute.
EMH created a sustainable business plan and architectural concept that the NOCCA Institute could use to attract partners, donors and investors. By creating a dynamic business model, the client could adapt the roadmap as needed. Through this business plan, EMH’s strategy consultants demonstrated NOCCA’s ability to create a high quality education product, combined with new and expanded revenue streams, partnerships and stakeholder access. The EMH roadmap demonstrated a direction of action while allowing the flexibility to adjust to future opportunities and challenges.
In order to deliver this final product, our consultants first undertook a careful study of the organization as well as its primary challenges, key stakeholders, and the client’s ultimate goal. Once this crucial understanding was acquired and the project roadmap created, EMH worked closely with the NOCCA Institute team members in order to ensure that all project timelines and objectives remained on target.
By analyzing key factors, such as the opportunity analysis, market drivers, strategic partnerships, real estate assessment and revenue generation possibilities, EMH provided the client with a sustainable business plan that addressed all key opportunities and risk factors. In additional, the business consultants’ close working relationship with the design team allowed the client to follow a fully-conceptualized model in order to successfully complete their goal.
